Services on Sundays and midweek, together with other worship

Visitors are very welcome at all our services.

See the Calendar for any changes to this pattern.

Sunday Services

8.00 am Holy Communion

This is a peaceful, said service using the traditional words of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

10.00 am Parish Communion

This is our main service of the day, using the Common Worship liturgy, Order One in modern language. The various Young St Mary’s groups meet during this service (See the Children page). Afterwards, there is a chance to chat over coffee in the Church Hall. There is a rota for essential duties. If you would like to help then email churchwarden

6.30 pm Evening Prayer

This is a reflective service as night draws in. We alternate between the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. There is a communion service on the fourth Sunday of the month instead.

Daily Communion

All are welcome to the daily Communion service held at 9 am in Fairacres Convent in Parker Street

All-Age Services

Six times a year, the Parish Communion is an All-Age Service. This is held in the more informal setting of the Church Hall, with a children's orchestra providing the music.

Morning Prayer

For those who like to start their day with prayer and reflection, Morning Prayer is said in church at 8.30 am every Wednesday.

Bible Study and Prayer Groups

We have two bible study groups and a prayer group which meet weekly or fortnightly in the evening. There is also a third bible study group which normally meets at 2.30 in Donnington on the third Monday of each month.

"Prayer and Toast" is on a Friday 7.30 in the morning at the Vestry.

New members are welcome to any of these five groups.

To find out more contact the Vicar.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals

These are available for people living in the parish, which covers Rose Hill, Iffley and Donnington. For more information on baptisms contact the Vicar (Andrew McKearney), for weddings contact the Vicar (Andrew McKearney) and for funerals the Vicar

Looking Beyond the Parish

We regularly provide food for the Gatehouse centre for the homeless. Once a month, there is a simple lunch to raise money for Christian Aid. We target a different cause each month with our MISSION OF THE MONTH.
