The nave
Originally there were no pews and people will have stood here during services. Pews were added sometime later — these particular ones are Victorian. Large Perpendicular-style windows were inserted in the 15th century, presumably by John de la Pole, lord of the manor of Donnington, whose coat of arms is in the south window. The arches supporting the tower are ahead. They are beautifully carved with an unusual design — leaves and flowers or fruit. This stonework would have originally been painted, making the church a blaze of bright colours.
